Lori Fonger
Lori Fonger is a contemporary landscape artist from Toronto, Ontario working in acrylics. She is known for her striking use of monochromatic color palettes and her ability to create simplified compositions that evoke a sense of calm and peace. With a unique artistic vision that straddles the boundary between realism and abstraction, Lori has carved out a distinctive niche in the contemporary art scene.
Her paintings often feature a limited color scheme using muted greens, blues and greys which allows her to focus on form and composition while inviting a meditative response from her audience. Her artworks serve as a sanctuary, offering a refuge of tranquility in an increasingly chaotic world. Viewers often find themselves drawn into her pieces, experiencing a sense of serenity and introspection.
Each piece contains soft, flowy brush strokes in the sky juxtaposed with thick impasto painting to create texture and movement in the water. Her latest collection is inspired by the lakes and rivers in Ontario.
Before embarking on her artistic journey, Lori enjoyed a successful career in corporate marketing within the financial services industry as a consumer research consultant. She is now practicing art full-time.

“I want my work to provide the viewer with a respite from the stresses of everyday life. To convey that feeling one gets when sitting on a rock, eyes closed, enjoying the sound of the water.
