Call for Submissions- RENEWAL

RENEWAL 2026

“And suddenly you know: it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” — Meister Eckhart

As winter gives way to spring—snow melting, days stretching longer, light returning—we invite artists to explore RENEWAL in our annual Spring exhibition.

This season of transformation is both external and internal. Renewal appears in the natural world and in ourselves: in fresh starts, evolving perspectives, and the quiet energy of change.

In the medium of your choice, interpret rebirth, growth, and transformation. Your work may reflect awakening landscapes, the renewal of the human spirit, the evolution of ideas, or the emergence of something unexpected.

We welcome submissions that embrace renewal in all its forms and celebrate the promise of new beginnings.

RAVEL 2026

Call for Submissions: Textile Art Exhibition

Threads twist, fibres entwine, patterns emerge—and sometimes, they unravel.

RAVEL invites artists to explore the beauty, complexity, and poetry of textile materials and processes.

We are seeking works that investigate the tactile, the layered, and the transformative—pieces that reveal the intimate relationship between material, technique, and meaning. Whether through weaving, stitching, knitting, felting, embroidery, or experimental textile practices, your work might celebrate structure, tension, softness, imperfection, or the unexpected journeys of thread and fibre.

This exhibition welcomes interpretations both literal and abstract: from detailed explorations of surface and texture to conceptual investigations of connection, memory, and the stories embedded in material.

Eligibility: Open to artists working with textiles or fibre in any form or scale.
Mediums: Traditional, experimental, mixed media incorporating textile elements.

Exhibition Offerings: June 13th to July 5th at Melt Studio & Gallery, at Base31 during regular business hours.

A minimum of 10 textiles artists will be selected to be part of the Booth Display by Melt Gallery at the Gather in the County Textile show at Crystal Palace on Saturday on Saturday June 13th 10 am - 4 pm.

Let your work unravel, entwine, and reveal. Show us how thread, fabric, and fibre can tell stories, evoke emotion, and transform space. No size limitations, but it is strongly suggested artists submit a range of sizes..

Dale Tomlinson was raised amid the lakes and granite landscapes of the Canadian Shield, and brings a lifelong sensitivity to structure and form to her quilt practice. Working intuitively with freehand cutting, her work explores subtle relationships of colour, line, and geometry, often unfolding across series. Inspired by textiles and the weathered angles of rural architecture, her quilts balance improvisation with careful study. Based in Toronto, Ontario, Tomlinson has exhibited internationally in curated and juried exhibitions.

Julia Lindsay is a graduate of McMaster University in Art History. Currently she resides in Toronto.
