Allen Hirsh
Allen Hirsh is an artist who currently splits his time between his professional career as a management consultant and his artistic pursuits. He lives in both Toronto and Prince Edward County, with studios in both locations.
“I think of myself as a ‘constructivist’ - someone who puts things together. Although the mediums I’ve used over the years have changed, many of the themes are similar, such as:
Density: a rich integrated whole formed from distinct building blocks.
A sense of optimism and playfulness
Being prolific and the joy, passion and obsession found in productivity.
Imperfection: sometimes deliberate, sometimes not.
Relationships and the connections that bring us together and pull us apart.
Abstraction: answers through analysis and reflection and still more questions and images; never a complete story.
Provocation: hopefully in good ways.”
