Valerie Carew-Summer 2026 Guest Artist

Valerie Carew (she/her) is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist who investigates relationships between the body and natural world. She hand hooks textile wearables and sculptures, and paints slightly surreal and impressionistic representational oil paintings to create immersive human and land experiences. Carew uses photography, video, and occasionally performance and kinetic moving parts to literally activate her pieces. She invites you, the viewer, to slow down and join her on an ever evolving immersive journey through the wilds of Canada.
