Tanya Fenkell- Halo
Tanya Fenkell- Halo
‘Circles are perfect and magical. We love to gaze into eyes, likening their depth and magnetism to pools. Each day as the sun rises or falls we are given a new beginning and an ending, and there is often a glorious nimbus that allows us to glimpse something otherworldly. And, most importantly, certain people in our lives have invisible halos but we know they’re angels nonetheless. In this landscape textile piece, the halo of the sun is a discarded piece of metal debris, as are the small land formations in the foreground. My use of repurposed rusty metal found on my walks and runs is a way to make clear the damage we are doing to our planet while at the same time creating something new and beautiful out of them.’ - Tanya Fenkell
