Kathleen Dawson - Castaway Dreams
nFramed 27 5\8 X 23.5 inches
Collage
I was immediately inspired by Dianne Twombly’s digital photographic collage, I Dreamt of Magnolias. The witty, Surrealist combining of imagery resonated with my own approach to layering images. Collage was an obvious media for my Pairings piece. The cool blues, greys and hits of pinks were my jumping off point. A scrap of marbleized paper, torn black and white photograph and a fish print on Japanese paper were my elements for responding to Dianne ’s imagery and visual language. It was a delight to have fun playing and be inspired by Dianne’s work for my won Pairings Exhibition piece.
